Nancy

"I enjoy discovering an author’s strengths and highlighting that expertise in a book, a proposal, or a website. It's a pleasure to work with people who want to make a difference, whether they’re entrepreneurs or professionals. For me, book and project development are among the reasons I get out of bed in the morning."

Nancy Faass is coauthor of nine books on health and wellness with McGraw-Hill, Harper/Quill, Adams Media, Healing Arts, and New World Library, and a Book-of-the-Year with Jones & Bartlett. She earned her MPH from UC Berkeley and is founder and director of The Writers’ Group, a coop that provides writing and project development for authors. She has consulted on dozens of books and provides a broad range of freelance writing services.

Lisa

"I help clients identify their key message and communicate it with clear and engaging prose, giving readers the information they need in a form they can understand. For clients who want project management, I also work with designers and the production process from start to finish, freeing your time for other commitments."

Lisa Stockwell has freelanced for the past two decades, providing writing and communications services to clients that include Genetech, Children’s Hospital (Oakland), Pacific Telesis (now AT&T), U.S. Sprint, and Wells Fargo. She is author of nine books with Sunset Books and founder of a successful magazine that ran in the black from the day they opened their doors.

Esther

"On my day off, I spend my spare time in bookstores sleuthing the latest trends in publishing and second-guessing the New York book executives. For me the real excitement is in finding the most important or innovative aspect of an author’s message. I strongly believe that everyone has a book in them."

Esther’s skills in book development and authorship reflect 15 years of experience as a bookstore manager at Fields (an antiquarian bookseller), the Palace of Fine Arts Museum Bookstore, and Crown Books on Nob Hill. She holds a BA in European History with a year abroad in Italy and a second bachelor's degree in Theater Arts, and is a published poet.
